It’s A Christmas Miracle, Cortez!

Earlier this week, we received a DM from Verum (formerly known as Lost Boi) claiming that he had an artist that we absolutely needed to hear. With the A&R level ear that Verum has, we trusted his opinion and told him to send the artist our way. After getting in contact with Cortez, we had to ask, when is their next release?

The release date? CHRISTMAS DAY.

BRUH.

“Okay,” we thought. “This artist has some serious gall and this project better be good.” A few minutes later, we get the private link to the self-titled EP Cortez! We pop our headphones in and are greeted by trickling keys and cybernated vocals with the opening track ‘ON THE GANG!’

‘ON THE GANG!’ is a great opener which is followed by the out of this world track ‘RELAPSE!” A track, in particular, that stands out is ‘EXOTIC!’ which has an opening sample from the Cartoon Network program, Ed, Edd, and Eddy and a god damn 20MADEIT feature. Where can you go wrong with that combination?

This EP is looking to be well worth the Christmas release, especially with its enchanting production from Will on the Beat, Steelo Foreign, and even 20MADEIT. With 6 tracks, great production and fiery lyrics, we have to say again, that this project is actually looking to be well worth the Christmas release. A gift in itself.
